Many folks ask "How much of the chemical do I use in a [brand] proportioner?"

Basically the answer is easy, just by using the formula:

[Desired amount in final gallon] x [Proportioner ratio] = [Amount in gallon of concentrate]

For example, if the product label recommends one-half ounce per gallon, and your metering pump is set at 128:1, then you would need 1/2 ounce x 128 = 64 ounces per gallon of concentrate.

Another example: a "Siphonex" or "Hozon" proportioner is rated at 16:1, so for that same one-half ounce per gallon application strength, you would need to use 1/2 ounce x 16 = 8 ounces (one cup) of the product to mix up a gallon of concentrate.

The calculator below will help you figure out what your concentration should be, when using your particular supply of chemical and proportioner or metering pump.

One last thing:  in all cases, when you see that you are to mix "X" amount per gallon, the proper mixing is to  fill the container to the gallon mark, not to add the amount to a gallon of water.
