Is Size Important?

To the question "What size PrimeAgra^TM should I use?" my standard response is "coarse grade for everything but fine rooted plants like masdevallias and pleurothallids."  As the photo below shows, maybe it's not worth obsessing about using finer stuff for them, either!

That's masdevallia tovarensis in a Dixie Cup of the coarse grade.  It started as a single-leaf rescued from sopping, decomposed sphagnum, and was merely dropped on the top of the medium.
